MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES

The Order of the Rainbow for Girls offers many different projects both fun and serious.  A few are earning money for local and state wide projects; sending gifts to elderly people in Eastern Star and Masonic Homes; community improvements; fun parties, dances; selling candy as moneymaking projects and contributing to needy organizations.  Other activities include “parties” where the Masons are invited to a meeting and honored; Mother-Daughter teas; slumber parties and many, many others.

The local assemblies meet twice a month.  The state Grand Assemblies meet once a year and Supreme Assembly meets biannually.  To these Supreme International meetings members from all over the world come bringing souvenirs from their native countries and states to exchange with other members.  The real highlight of the sessions is the model exemplication of the Ritual, which is demonstrated by a team of girls composed of the Grand Worthy Advisors of the various states. These girls are perfectly trained and are the most outstanding girls of the Rainbow world.

Each assembly consists of 20 officers and a choir. Some assemblies are large enough to have junior officers and pages.  From these five top officers come appointments for our Grand Assembly consisting of the Grand Officers, Grand Representatives and Junior Grand Executive Committee Members.

The Grand Assembly program is made up of girl participation with the Grand Officers exemplifying the ritual and floor work in its highest degree of perfection and selected members and groups presenting drills and ceremonies.  Many assemblies choose an identifying dress that all their members wear.  This is very colorful and distinctive when viewing the entire Grand Assembly.

Installations are held every six months with a Worthy Advisor being elected to preside over the meetings of her assembly with the help of her Mother Advisor and the Advisory Board.
